GLASSER CANADA VENTURES THE SHOW
January 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
My name is Norah Finn and I am an IACP practicing psychotherapist, counsellor, clinical supervisor, and senior faculty member of the William
Glasser Institute, Ireland. I came to the Glasser Institute to do my BW in 1993. The rest is history. The theory and psychology had such an impact on my personal life that I continued at the institute where I am now a senior faculty member, on our executive board, and on the board of WGI. Choice theory and teaching choice theory is a part of my everyday life. I ll spread it in the classroom, therapy room, or at my kitchen table. I always feel with choice theory that once we learn it, we cannot unlearn
it. I separated 33 years ago when my sons were 3 and 1 years old. Very shortly afterwards, I was introduced to Choice Theory. My sons were raised on Choice Theory. I often say that they re certified in CT and don t even know it. It changed the story of my life. We all have a story. I work with clients on a daily basis. I often wonder what chapter of their life I m walking in on. How can I be a part of empowering them to writing their future chapters? Story telling is very much a part of Irish Culture, and really listening to a client s story helps me greatly in supporting my clients to rewrite their script.
Choice Theory can be used beautifully alongside any therapeutic modality. What is my story of therapy? What is yours? How has CT impacted your life? Who are we personally and professionally? How does who you are impact how I relate with others in my world? How can we use this tool in the therapy room?
I at Ventures for an evening of sharing our stories.
